Booking & Typical Costs
The outing fee covers your time out on the ground. A half day is one 3-hour session, morning or evening. A full day is two: morning and evening.
Guided: shot fees are set by your guide, and your guide chooses which animals are taken. Some include a doe or small buck in the outing fee, others charge for every animal. Each listing says what is included.
Unguided, pay as you go: a lower outing fee, with does charged individually at the rate shown on the listing. Bucks are charged at the rates on our shot fees page.
Unguided half and full days, and cull & management days: unlimited does where the listing says so, with no shot fees on them.
Bucks, stags and trophy animals are charged extra. See our shot fees page for the full list.
Once you've booked, we'll contact you to agree the date and session timings.
Your first deer stalk, with everything arranged. No rifle, firearm certificate or experience needed. Your guide supplies the rifle and looks after you from start to finish. Available November to March only.
What’s included
- A three-hour guided stalk, on foot or from a high seat depending on conditions
- Use of your guide’s rifle, with up to 10 rounds included (extra rounds are £2 each, paid on the day)
- 30 to 60 minutes of practice shooting at the start, until you can hit a 4-inch target consistently
- One cull muntjac, chosen by your guide
How it works
Your guide shows you the rifle and how to handle it safely, and you practise at a target before going out. The rifle stays under your guide’s control and is handed to you only when a shot is about to be taken. You remain in your guide’s presence throughout. Any unused ammunition is handed back at the end of the outing. Your guide decides whether and when a shot is taken, and you will never be put under pressure.
If you can’t reach the standard
If you can’t yet hit the 4-inch target consistently, the stalk goes ahead as an observation walk. You’ll follow your guide as they stalk and may watch your guide take a deer. No shot is taken by you and no refund is given.
Good to know
- You must be 18 or over.
- Every person shooting must complete our client registration form before the outing. We email you the link after booking.
- Deer are wild animals. A shot can’t be guaranteed, and refunds are not given based on the outcome.
- Wear quiet, waterproof clothing in drab colours (greens, browns, greys) and sturdy footwear. Please don’t wear bright or luminous gear.
- Once you’ve booked, we’ll email you to arrange the date.
