The session fee covers your time out on the ground.
Guided stalking outings include one cull animal within the outing fee.
Unguided stalking provides structured access to managed ground for experienced stalkers. Depending on the estate and management objectives, female deer may either be included within the outing fee or charged at a reduced management rate.
PAYG sessions charge animals individually, and Cull & Management Days usually include unlimited cull animals.

Watermeadow provides structured unaccompanied stalking for competent and experienced deer stalkers across carefully managed ground throughout the UK.
Unguided sessions are designed for confident rifle certificate holders capable of safe, independent decision-making while operating within clearly defined estate parameters.
All unguided outings operate under the Watermeadow Standard with safety, ethical shot selection and professional conduct expected at all times.
About This Ground
This Buckinghamshire ground near Milton Keynes (MK17) is a 2500 acre Pheasant Shooting Estate, with arable and livestock farming also present. The estate supports healthy populations of roe, muntjac and chinese water deer, with high seats positioned along proven travel routes.
Session Options
Select your preferred session type when booking:
- Half Day – 1 Shooter
- Full Day – 1 Shooter
- Half Day – 1 Shooter (PAYG, where available)
Each session includes a minimum of three hours field time.
Full-day bookings include two sessions.
PAYG options offer a reduced outing fee. Cull animals are charged individually at £30 per animal.
High Seat Requirement
For safety and ground familiarisation, the first twelve unguided sessions on any new estate are conducted from designated high seats only.
This ensures that each guest develops appropriate knowledge of the ground before any variation in stalking structure is considered.
This policy is non-negotiable and forms part of our risk management framework.
What to Expect
Your outing begins with a structured briefing before deployment to your allocated high seat.
You are responsible for:
- Safe firearm handling
- Accurate species and gender identification
- Ethical shot selection
- Compliance with estate boundaries and instructions
A guide remains available on the ground at all times, usually waiting with your vehicle.
Inclusions & Shot Policy
Your booking fee includes:
- Ground access
- Deployment to allocated high seat
- Unlimited female deer where applicable (excluding PAYG option)
Shot fees for other animals apply in accordance with the published Shot Fees schedule.
Gralloching
Guests are expected to gralloch their own deer to an acceptable food hygiene standard.
Failure to meet required standards may result in the guide completing the gralloch at a charge of £25 per animal, and potentially the cost of a spoiled carcass.
Suitability & Requirements
Unguided sessions are suitable only for experienced deer stalkers.
Participants must:
- Hold DSC1 / PDS1 or have a minimum of three years’ stalking experience
- Carry valid shooting insurance
- Provide and maintain their own rifle and equipment
- Demonstrate confident and competent species and gender identification
Unguided sessions are not suitable for beginners.
